Tuthill Hall

Tuthill Hall was constructed in the 1930s. In 1962, it was named in honor of Burnet C. Tuthill, Rhodes' first and longtime Professor of Music (1935-1959). For many years it served as the rehearsal hall for the Rhodes band, orchestra, and choral groups. Renovated in 1989 and again in 1997, Tuthill Hall was finally demolished to make way for the Paul Barret Jr. Library. But the names lives on. The recital hall in the music building was renamed the Burnet C. Tuthill Performance Hall.
